Role

The Lead Nurse plays a vital leadership role within the clinical team, providing expert guidance and hands-on clinical support to ensure the highest standards of guest care.

Working closely with the Registered Manager and Doctor, you will act as the senior clinician on-site, visible, approachable, and responsible for ensuring safe and effective clinical practice across all aspects of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing clinical leadership, direction, and expertise within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Overseeing clinical assessments, care planning, and evaluation to ensure safe, person-centred treatment.
  • Supporting and developing team members through supervision, mentoring, and training.
  • Deputising in the absence of the Head of Clinical Care.
  • Leading on safe staffing, effective rostering, and performance management.
  • Driving clinical governance, audit, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Promoting safeguarding, infection control, and medication safety best practice.
  • Facilitating clinical education and contributing to health promotion for guests.
  • Fostering a supportive, high-performing team culture aligned with organisational values.
  • This is a highly visible, guest-facing role for a confident and compassionate clinical leader who thrives in a progressive and values-led setting.

 

Candidate Requirements / Qualifications

Essential:

  • NMC Registered Nurse (RMN or RGN) with 4+ years’ post-registration experience.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role (Band 6 equivalent or above).
  • Strong clinical knowledge and confident decision-maker.
  • Understanding of medication management, safeguarding, and clinical governance frameworks.
  • Skilled in care planning, risk management, and incident management.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Resilient, self-motivated, and passionate about continuous improvement.
  • Compassionate, guest-focused, and aligned with recovery and person-centred values.

Desirable:

  • Leadership training or qualification.
  • V300 Non-Medical Prescriber qualification.
  • Experience within addiction, behavioural health, or mental health services.

 

Process

  • Screening call with consultant Ashley Collishaw, followed by CV submission.
  • Stage 1: In-person interview with the Registered Manager and Head of People & Culture.
  • Final stage: Meet and tour with the CEO.
