Compass Associates are proud to partner with a brand-new, cutting-edge outpatient pharmacy in Haywards Heath, currently seeking a highly capable Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician. The Role

 

As Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician, you will support the day-to-day tasks of assembling prescribed items, final accuracy checking of prescriptions, counselling patients on the use of the medication and stock management. Working closely with the Lead Pharmacist, the successful candidate will be part of a small high performing team that is expected to demonstrate behaviours that promote the companies vison, mission and values

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare labels using the pharmacy computer system and correctly assemble prescriptions
  • Organise the timely supply of out of stock medication to patients
  • Aid in the final accuracy checking of prescriptions.
  • Counsel patients on the use of their dispensed medications, offering advice and answering any queries they may have.
  • Receive prescriptions/orders and process on to the pharmacy prescription tracking system ensuring accurate data entry, and advise patients about their prescription exemptions.
  • Respond to symptoms described by customers by following agreed protocols and using own knowledge and judgement, and select and recommend suitable products and provide advice on their correct use.
  • Receive and process stock and deliveries, entering controlled drugs into appropriate registers and securely storing stock in allocated areas, ensuring rotation of stock.

About You

 

Essential

  • Registered with the GPhC
  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or equivalent
  • Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician
  • Current community pharmacy experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills - must be able to recognise and overcome barriers to understanding e.g. language, deaf, learning difficulties
  • Efficient at planning and organizing
  • Use of a pharmacy computer system
  • Demonstrable commitment to CPD

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a hospital pharmacy
  • Experience of using pharmacy Wellsky computer system
  • Experience of using prescription tracking system
  • Experience of using automated dispensing systems (robot)

Location

 

This role is based in Haywards Heath and is easily commutable from surrounding areas including Burgess Hill, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, Uckfield, East Grinstead, Southwater, Henfield and Hassocks.
