Assistant Practitioner – Neurological Care

Overview

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Practitioner to join a specialist neurological care service in Hitchin, supporting adults with a range of neurological conditions and brain injuries.

 

Working within a compassionate and multidisciplinary team, you’ll play an essential role in delivering personalised, high-quality care that focuses on recovery, wellbeing, and empowerment.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Support the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care under the guidance of registered professionals.
  • Deliver person-centred support that promotes dignity, choice, and independence for each service user.
  • Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and consistency of care.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical practice within your scope of competency, in line with national guidelines and service policies.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe, and empowering environment by promoting best practice and supporting colleagues.
  • Accurately record and communicate changes in service users’ conditions and progress.
  • Uphold confidentiality, health, and safety standards while fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and professionalism.

 

 

Candidate Requirements

 

  • Essential qualification: Level 5 Foundation Degree in Assistant Practitioner (Healthcare) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working within a healthcare or clinical environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding, and professional standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with service users and colleagues.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, resilient, and able to respond appropriately to individuals in distress.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
  • A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required for this role.

 

 

Salary Package & Benefits

 

  • Hourly rate: £14.30 – £15.30 per hour (dependent on experience)
