Clinical Lead | Nursing & Residential Care Home | Whitehaven, Cumbria

Salary: £52,000 Per Annum
Location: Whitehaven, Cumbria

Contract: 40 hours per week (Alternate weekends, shared with the Home Manager)

 

About the Role

We’re seeking a qualified and motivated Clinical Lead (RGN or RMN) to support the delivery of high-quality clinical care across a mixed nursing and residential service. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinical professional to work within a supportive, values-driven organisation, helping to maintain and improve clinical standards across the home.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring clinical governance, delivering high standards of care, and supporting the wider team to achieve and maintain excellent outcomes. You will work closely with the Home Manager and senior leadership to drive continuous improvement and ensure a person-centred approach is consistently delivered.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing strong clinical leadership and setting high standards across the service

  • Ensuring the safe, effective and person-centred delivery of care at all times

  • Supporting clinical governance, compliance and quality improvement initiatives

  • Overseeing care planning, medication management and clinical audits

  • Coaching and supporting nursing and care staff to deliver excellent care

  • Ensuring accurate, compliant and up-to-date clinical records

  • Building positive, professional relationships with residents, families and external professionals

  • Supporting the Home Manager to maintain or increase clinical standards across the home

  • Working collaboratively with the wider leadership team to deliver continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified RGN or RMN

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a clinical role within a care setting

  • Strong clinical knowledge with the ability to lead and mentor others

  • Confident understanding of clinical governance, audits, and compliance

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • A compassionate, professional and person-centred approach

  • A proactive leader who can support and inspire the team

  • Ability to work alternate weekends (shared with the Home Manager)

Location

The service is based in Whitehaven, Cumbria, set within a picturesque and peaceful landscape, offering a calm and supportive environment for both residents and staff. The home is commutable from Workington, Cleator Moor, Egremont, Millom, Cockermouth, Maryport, and surrounding West Cumbria areas.
