Company:
Compass Associates are exclusively partnering with a leading, national provider of adult social care services supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, acquired brain injuries and complex needs.
The organisation is entering an exciting period of structured growth and commercial investment. As part of this evolution, three brand-new roles have been created within the commercial function. Two of these positions have already been successfully appointed, with the Commercial Manager being the final and most pivotal hire.
This is a newly created role, developed in response to growth. Historically, responsibilities have been shared across the commercial team; however, the need for a dedicated individual to drive strategy, visibility and sustainable expansion has now been identified.
Role Overview:
The Commercial Manager will be central to the organisation’s next phase of growth. This is a highly visible, strategic position focused on expanding services in a positive, sustainable and quality-led manner.
Working closely with the Head of Commercial, Head of Development & Acquisitions, Contracts and Partnership teams, you will:
- Develop and strengthen relationships with Local Authorities and key commissioners
- Identify commercial opportunities across supported living, residential and outreach services
- Support pricing strategy, commercial modelling and viability assessments
- Increase brand presence and visibility within local markets
- Work closely with Quality and Operational teams to identify service improvements and remove barriers to growth
- Contribute to the wider commercial strategy and long-term sustainability planning
- Spend time within services to understand operational challenges and opportunities first-hand
This role suits someone ambitious and career-minded who wants to be instrumental in shaping the future of a growing commercial function. There is genuine scope to build and lead a team as the role evolves.
Candidate Requirements:
- Substantial and recent experience managing commercial aspects of services in adult social care, particularly supported living, residential and/or outreach.
- Experience working with Local Authorities and public sector commissioners
- Familiarity with CQC governance and regulatory frameworks
- Commercially astute with the ability to identify growth opportunities
- Confident building relationships both internally and externally
- Comfortable being visible within services and taking a hands-on approach
- Ambitious, proactive and motivated to progress into senior commercial leadership
Candidates from commissioning, business development, commercial, or operational leadership backgrounds within adult social care will be considered. The organisation is open to supporting the right individual in developing specific Commercial Manager responsibilities, provided the sector foundation and mindset are in place.
Process:
The interview process will consist of a structured two-stage interview process with senior leadership. A detailed job description will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
This vacancy is being recruited exclusively by Compass Associates.
