Deputy Dementia Specialist | Elderly Dementia Nursing Home

 

Location: Solihull 
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum 
Hours: Full time - predominantly Monday to Friday days with some weekend rotations

 

Remit

We are recruiting an experienced Deputy Dementia Specialist to join a high-quality dementia-focused care home on near Solihull. This senior clinical role is principally hands-on and clinical: you will lead and support the home’s Clinical Leads and nursing team, work clinical shifts and provide expert oversight of dementia nursing practice across the service. The postholder will champion evidence-based, person-centred dementia care, embedding specialist approaches that support residents with complex and advanced needs while also providing clinical leadership, mentorship and professional development for the nursing team.

 

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a substantial and demonstrable background in dementia care. You will be an experienced clinical leader, comfortable managing a team of Clinical Leads and nurses, and confident delivering complex clinical interventions and care planning for people living with dementia. Specialist dementia training, such as Dementia Mapping, Montessori for Dementia or equivalent evidence-based qualifications, is highly desirable and will be advantageous.

 

This role suits an RMN who wants to be primarily clinical, who enjoys working on the floor delivering high quality nursing care, and who can also provide clinical supervision, training and leadership to a high-performing clinical team.

 

Requirements – Essential

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with valid NMC registration

  • Extensive clinical experience and specialist expertise in dementia care

  • Demonstrable experience managing and mentoring clinical teams (Clinical Leads, Nurses)

  • Dementia-specific qualification or advanced training preferred (e.g., Dementia Mapping / Montessori) not essential.

Location:

The home is located at Solihull. It is commutable from surrounding towns and suburbs including Birmingham, Coventry, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Redditch and other nearby areas.
