Salary: Up to £58,000 per annum (depending on experience)
About the Role
Compass Associates are proud to be working with a specialist care facility in York, supporting residents across dementia and discharge-to-assess wards. We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to lead day-to-day operations and ensure the highest standards of person-centred care.
This is a hands-on leadership role – ideal for candidates with experience as a Deputy Manager or Manager in social care. While clinical registration is not required, a strong understanding of dementia care, leadership, and a passion for improving residents’ lives is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Support person-centred, evidence-based dementia care.
Uphold compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies.
Oversee audits, care plans, medication management, and safeguarding processes alongside the Clinical Lead and General Manager.
Supervise, mentor, and coordinate care teams, fostering a culture of dignity, inclusion, and professional development.
Support recruitment, rotas, and day-to-day team coordination.
Deputise for the General Manager when required.
Assist with budgeting, stock control, and supplier relations.
Build trusting relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders.
Maintain a safe, welcoming environment and support community engagement.
Participate in the on-call rota.

Who We’re Looking For
Passionate about delivering high-quality dementia care.
Experienced in social care leadership roles (Deputy Manager or Manager).
Strong communicator and team leader, able to support staff development and family engagement.
Able to deputise effectively for the General Manager and work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead.
