Overview

 

Compass Associates is pleased to partner with a respected charitable, non-profit organisation, in their search for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join their 5-unit Supported Living service dedicated to individuals with learning disabilities in High Wycombe. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Manager or experienced Team Leader with a strong background in Learning Disabilities.

 

The Deputy Manager role is pivotal in supporting the Registered Manager to ensure that all service users and staffing needs are met while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and person-centred environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, a commitment to high standards of care, and a passion for improving the lives of adults with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support the Service Manager in leading a dedicated care team.
  • Promote a culture of respect, dignity, and equality among service users and staff.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Monitor and review service delivery, implementing improvements where needed.
  • Handle staffing requirements, ensuring adequate coverage and support.
  • Ensure care plans are tailored to meet individual needs and aspirations.
  • Promote independence and wellbeing among residents.
  • Encourage and facilitate social and recreational activities.
  • Assist the Registered Manager in managing the service budget.
  • Ensure effective use of resources while maximising occupancy levels.
  • Ensure health and safety policies are followed.
  • Work closely with the Quality and Compliance team to maintain high standards.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals.
  • Act as a point of contact for concerns and feedback from service users and their families.

 

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

 

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Supported Living or healthcare setting, in a senior role.
  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) – essential
  • NVQ Level 5 in Management – desirable

 

  • Flexible and adaptable, with a commitment to improving care quality.
  • Compassionate and person-centred approach to care.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Satisfactory DBS disclosure at the enhanced level.
