I'm working with a leading provider of education and together are seeking an outstanding Headteacher to lead our brand-new specialist school in Bristol, set to open in August 2025. This is a unique opportunity to shape the school's ethos, recruit a dynamic team, and establish a centre of excellence that ensures every pupil thrives.

 

About the Role

 

As Headteacher, you will be responsible for creating and sustaining an outstanding learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that:

  • Pupils achieve exceptional outcomes that reflect their individual needs, abilities, and aspirations.

  • The school provides a safe, nurturing environment that prioritises the welfare of both students and staff.

  • The school meets and exceeds all statutory requirements set by the DfE, Ofsted, and other external bodies, achieving the highest possible inspection ratings.

  • Staff are highly motivated, fully engaged, and committed to professional growth, contributing to excellence in all areas of school life.

  • The school operates successfully, maintaining full occupancy, managing costs effectively, and developing strategic growth plans.

  • A culture of continuous improvement is embedded through effective strategic planning, self-evaluation, and school development initiatives.

  • A clear and inspiring vision is shared across the school community, aligning with the overarching strategy of the the Group.

About You

 

Essential:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience as a senior leader in a specialist school for pupils with complex communication needs.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • Completion of the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).

  • Experience in performance management, staff recruitment, and induction.

  • Experience in curriculum planning across various age groups and abilities.
