About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Home Care Manager to lead a well-established and growing domiciliary care service in Worthing, supporting older people and individuals within the community to maintain independence at home.
This role offers clear progression into the Registered Manager position within 6 months, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced Care Manager ready to formalise CQC registration or an existing Registered Manager seeking a new challenge.
The organisation has demonstrated strong growth and has ambitious expansion plans, including the development of live-in and enhanced overnight provision. This appointment is pivotal to strengthening operational leadership, governance, and compliance as the service continues to evolve.
The service operates extended daily hours with shared on-call responsibility. Importantly:

No 15-minute calls

Minimum one-hour morning calls

Block pay model (paid from start to end of shift)

Electronic care planning and rostering via Nourish
The structure includes care coordinators, field supervisors, recruitment support, and compliance oversight — providing a strong operational foundation.
As Home Care Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service, driving quality, compliance, performance, and sustainable growth.
Role Responsibilities

Lead, motivate and develop the domiciliary care team

Manage supervision, appraisals and staff induction

Ensure the service meets all contractual and regulatory requirements

Oversee quality monitoring audits including health & safety and medication

Take responsibility for service improvement planning and achieving minimum ‘Good’ CQC rating

Manage safeguarding referrals and submit CQC notifications where required

Oversee rotas, staffing levels and emergency cover

Maintain accurate and compliant electronic care records

Monitor budgets, income and expenditure

Compile operational reports for senior leadership

Contribute to performance reporting and outcome measurement

Act as a positive role model and ambassador

Progress into Registered Manager with CQC within 6 months
Requirements
-
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards)

Proven management experience within domiciliary care
-
Strong understanding of the CQC regulatory framework
-
Experience managing rotas and covering staff absence
-
Knowledge of safeguarding, MCA and DoLS

Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
-
IT literate (MS Office and electronic rostering systems)

Ability to travel within the Worthing and Adur area

Ability to provide direct care in emergency situations
Desirable:

Train the Trainer qualification

Experience working within the voluntary/charity sector
