Location: Bristol
Salary: £65,000 – £68,000 per annum + bonus & benefits

Compass Associates are proud to be working in exclusive partnership with one of the biggest providers in the UK to recruit an experienced Home Manager for a well-regarded small size nursing and residential home within the Bristol area.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to take the lead in a home with a strong local reputation that has recently undergone refurbishment. The home is now looking for a confident and people-focused leader to, stabilise operations, and create a positive, high-performing culture. The successful candidate will take full operational responsibility for the home, with a particular focus on team engagement, reducing agency usage through effective rota management, and embedding consistent leadership presence on the floor. You will be supported by an established clinical structure, including a strong Deputy Manager, and benefit from the wider backing of a leading national provider.

 

The Candidate

Our client is seeking a stable and experienced Home Manager with a strong track record in nursing home environments. You will be a visible and hands-on leader who leads from the front, engaging with staff daily and fostering a collaborative and supportive culture. You will be confident managing through change and capable of rebuilding trust and cohesion within the team. While clinical qualifications are not essential, prior experience within nursing services is highly desirable.

 

Requirements – Essential

  • Previous experience as a Home Manager within elderly nursing care
  • Strong understanding of CQC standards and regulatory compliance
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and stabilise teams
  • Hands-on leadership style with a strong on-the-floor presence
  • Experience managing staffing levels and reducing agency reliance
  • Demonstrable career stability

Requirements – Desirable

  • Nurse qualification (RGN or RMN) – desirable but not essential
  • Experience in improving team culture
  • Background in trouble shooting & turnaround

Interview Process: 

 

Stage One: Screening interview with the Senior Recruiter

Stage Two: Teams interview with regional director and regional support manager (including competency questions and a pre-assigned task)

Stage Three: 30-minute chemistry interview with managing director
