Lead Occupational Therapist – Home-Based – Brain Injuries
Home-Based with national travel as required
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + £3,600 Car Allowance
*Must be an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist*
Remit
Compass Associates are excited to be working with a national provider of learning disability, mental health and neurorehabilitation services, to recruit a Lead Occupational Therapist, to oversee their specialist services for adults with backgrounds of acquired/traumatic brain injuries.
This newly created role oversees residential and respite services for adults who have physical disabilities, cognitive functioning difficulties and behavioural, psychological or emotional needs due to backgrounds of brain injuries, stroke, neuro-progressive conditions or alcohol related brain injuries. Although this role is focussed on the neuro rehab services, you may be asked for your advice around general Occupational Therapy support for adults with mental health conditions or learning disabilities.
All services have access to NHS Community Therapy Teams (Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses and Speech & Language Therapists). This is a unique role where you will not have a clinical caseload, but instead provide specialist advice internally, to enhance the statutory provisions that are already in place. Your role will involve creating clinical strategies, policies, procedures and delivering training, but there may be occasions where you need to visit a service user on site if particularly challenging.
Your role will be to provide expertise around Occupational Therapy, to Registered Managers, Operations Teams and Care Staff, so they have the therapeutic knowledge and skills to best support the service users. You will work alongside your counterparts (also new roles) of a Lead SALT, Lead Nurses (Mental Health and Learning Disabilities), Safeguarding Lead and Psychology Lead, who all report into the Associate Clinical Director for Adult Services.
Location/Travel
As there are large clusters of services in the North West and Yorkshire regions, the successful candidate would ideally be based in and around the Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Birmingham and Derby areas. However, candidates located anywhere in England/Wales will be considered as long as you’re willing to travel as required.
