Compass Associates is excited to be working with a specialist trauma support service, to recruit a Major Trauma Rehab Adviser, to join their  well-established service at the Major Trauma Centre in Coventry.

This is a unique opportunity, for a qualified Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Nurse, who has experience working within major trauma and/or complex rehabilitation as you will utilise your clinical skills and experience, but in a different way. Patients who have been through major trauma, will be facing a complex recovery where they will need support on areas outside of their medical and health issues.

You will meet patients on the wards and signpost to a range of professionals including Citizens Advice, peer support groups, charities (e.g. those that support people who have been through brain injuries, spinal injuries, complex trauma or orthopaedic injuries), mental health support and specialist support services including; legal firms, housing associations, financial advisers and employment. Once discharged from hospital, you will still be able to follow up with patients over the phone to continue providing support and advice. You will work as part of the NHS Trauma Team where you will collaborate with the Nurses, Doctors and Support Staff that are involved in each patient’s care.

Candidate

The successful candidate must have:

• A degree in Physiotherapy, Nursing or Occupational Therapy
• Full HCPC or NMC registration, without conditions
• Experience working within major trauma, complex care or rehabilitation
• Excellent communication skills in order to empathetically support and advise vulnerable patients

1st stage phone interviews are taking place w/c 17th March

2nd stage face to face interviews will be w/c 24th March
