Job Title: Occupational Therapist - OCD/BDD - Inpatient Mental Health Hospital

Location: Central London (on-site)
Salary: £41,000 - £45,000 pro-rata
Hours: 30 hours per week (4 days per week)

Overview:

Compass Associates is thrilled to partner with a renowned private mental health hospital in Central London to find a dedicated Occupational Therapist for their OCD and BDD Unit. With over 30 years of excellence in mental health care, this hospital offers evidence-based treatments in an inpatient setting. This is a rare opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team tackling some of the most complex cases in mental health care. As part of this close-knit team, you will play a key role in providing personalised, therapeutic interventions for patients battling OCD and BDD, helping them to regain control over their lives and improve their well-being.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide tailored occupational therapy interventions for patients with OCD and BDD.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  • Lead group therapy and one-on-one sessions, ensuring therapeutic goals are met.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in mental health care and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients, families, and carers on OCD and BDD management and recovery.
  • Use specialised assessment tools to track patient progress and adapt treatment plans
  • Contribute to MDT meetings, offering insights and updates on patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation to ensure optimal care for individuals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Previous experience in an inpatient mental health setting is essential.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary teams (MDT) and experience working with complex mental health conditions, especially OCD and BDD.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
  • Passionate about mental health and making a genuine difference in patients' lives, particularly in the field of OCD and BDD care.
