Compass Associates are proud to be working with an award-winning healthcare organisation, who are currently recruiting for a dedicated Oncology Nurse Manager to join their Oncology Day Unit, overseeing their cancer services. This hospital is renowned for its excellence in providing a wide range of services, including Cosmetics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Oncology, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology and Endoscopy.

The Candidate                

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate nurse leader who brings both clinical expertise in oncology and a genuine passion for advancing patient-centred care. You’ll play a key role in shaping the service, inspiring your team, and ensuring the highest standards across all aspects of cancer care — from diagnosis through to treatment and beyond.

 

Whether you are an experienced Nurse Manager seeking a new challenge or a Lead Nurse/Sister ready to take the next step into management, this is a wonderful opportunity to progress your career within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.   

       

This is a full-time position consisting of 37.5 hours per week, which has a highly desirable shift pattern worked between Monday-Friday, with no weekends required. You will either work a 4 or 5 day working week dependent upon your preference.

                        

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the running of the Oncology Day Unit, ensuring smooth and effective operations
  • Provide expert clinical oversight of oncology care, from diagnosis and treatment, to end of life support
  • Inspire, mentor and develop the nursing team, fostering a culture of education, compassion and inclusion
  • Drive service development, implementing policies and strategies to enhance patient experience and outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, senior colleagues, the wider multidisciplinary team and patients

 

Requirements               

  • Qualified Nurse with NMC registration   
  • Right to Work in the UK    
  • Strong clinical experience working within an Oncology setting
  • SACT (Systematic Anti-Cancer Therapy) passport
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and supervising clinical staff
  • Solid understanding of clinical governance, audits, infection prevention and risk management
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisation skills
  • Passion for high quality care
