Compass Associates is proud to be working with one of the UK’s leading private hospitals, located in the heart of Central London. Specialising in women's and children's health, this hospital is the largest of its kind in the UK. It offers more than 50 paediatric beds, a dedicated Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Day Care Facility, and 5 state-of-the-art theatres. The hospital carries out a wide range of complex procedures across acute specialties such as Gynaecology, Obstetrics, General Surgery, and Paediatric Surgery.

We are currently looking for a Paediatric Spinal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to work within their dynamic clinical team.

The Role

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Paediatric Spinal Surgery, you will use your expertise to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care across the entire spinal surgery pathway. Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team while also taking the lead in managing patient journeys autonomously, you will serve as a strong advocate for patients.

In this role, you will:

• Provide expert nursing care for children with complex spinal conditions, ensuring high standards of care are met at all times.
• Deliver holistic and evidence-based care throughout the spinal surgery pathway
• Work closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and deliver individualised care plans.
• Offer guidance and support to nursing and medical staff on spinal care best practices.
• Assist in the development, review, and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior nursing staff and trainees. 

This is a full-time position consisting of 37.5 hours per week, which will be worked days only Monday to Friday.

Requirements            

• RCN qualified with NMC registration
• Extensive experience working within a paediatric setting
• Previous experience working as a Paediatric Spinal CNS
• Basic/Intermediate Paediatric Life Support certification.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven CPD
