Job Title: PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) Practitioner - Learning Disabilities & Autism
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum + £3,000 Car Allowance
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Location: North London / Hertfordshire – Haringey, Barnet, and Potters Bar

The Role:

 

Compass Associates is proud to be partnering with a trusted care provider in the search for a PBS Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and enhance Positive Behaviour Support practices across supported living services for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.

 

In this role, you will collaborate with staff, develop and review PBS plans, and visit services regularly to ensure high standards of care and effective implementation of PBS strategies. You will play a key role in reducing restrictive practices and promoting positive outcomes for service users.

 

Service User Support:

  • Oversee a caseload of adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.
  • Design, implement, and review PBS plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Conduct regular service visits to monitor and enhance PBS practices.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce restrictive practices in line with best practice guidelines.

Staff Leadership & Development:

  • Manage and supervise a team of 10 - 20 staff across multiple locations.
  • Deliver PBS training and ongoing coaching to support staff development.
  • Provide reflective practice sessions and debriefs to promote continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive, person-centred culture across services.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Conduct fidelity checks to ensure PBS plans are correctly implemented.
  • Write detailed assessments and contribute to service improvement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with the provider’s policies and CQC guidelines.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with adults with learning disabilities and autism in supported living or residential settings.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing PBS plans.
  • Degree in Behaviour Analysis or Psychology or a Level 5 in PBS
  • Positive Behaviour Support - Levels 2, Level 3, or Level 4 is preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, person-centred approach.

This office-based PBS Practitioner role covers North London and Hertfordshire, with regular visits to supported living services in:
