Compass Associates is pleased to present this role from one of the UK’s largest community pharmacies, searching for an experienced pharmacist to fill a critical role within a spirited team. A successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment, while providing continuous improvements to the services provided.
Our client is based in the heart of Edinburgh and has a community focus with services ranging from everything from emergency prescriptions to Urgent Care, a “can-do” attitude is imperative and having genuine passion is key to this role which requires providing expert care and advice to the most vulnerable people within society.
The branch is staffed with a highly experienced team utilising robotic distribution technology, freeing up your time to focus on providing the highest quality patient care. You will be reporting directly to directly to the Pharmacy Practice Manager to support the successful delivery of agreed KPIs, helping achieve deliverable metrics by reviewing performance and engaging with colleagues.
Experience Required
- Be a registered GPhC pharmacist
- One year’s minimum experience in a UK Community Pharmacy setting
- Strong commitment to patient care and safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- A flexible and positive approach to problem-solving
- Proven leadership skills in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
- Up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical products and healthcare trends
Importantly, the ideal candidate will not only possess technical pharmacy skills but also show an aptitude for customer service, collaboration, and potential growth within the organization
Role Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines
- Provide medication counselling and support to patients, answering their questions and addressing concerns
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to optimize patient care
- Conduct medication reviews and ensure safe and effective medication management
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage pharmacy inventory
- Provide immunisation services (where applicable)
- Offer advice on over-the-counter medications and healthcare products
- Actively participate in health promotion and public health initiatives

This role is based in Edinburgh – commutable from Cupar, Rosyth, Livingston, Musselburgh & Haddington.
