Location: Cumbria
Salary: £60,000 per annum (+ Bonus).
Contracted Hours: 42.5 hours per week.
Shifts: 09:00am – 05:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Requirement: NVQ level 5 in Health & Social Care

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead a well-established elderly nursing and residential service in Cumbria. This purpose-built home provides high-quality care and support to older adults with a range of needs, including dementia, physical disabilities, and age-related conditions.
The service is recognised locally for its friendly and supportive environment, with a strong emphasis on person-centred care that promotes dignity, comfort, and independence. The home offers modern facilities, spacious communal areas, and a dedicated team of staff committed to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care tailored to each resident’s individual needs.
As the Registered Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and upholding the highest standards of clinical and operational excellence. You will provide inspirational leadership to the care and nursing teams, promote a positive workplace culture, and work closely with residents, families, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Role Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the home, ensuring safe, person-centred care.
- Maintain compliance with CQC standards and all regulatory requirements.
- Lead, motivate, and develop care and nursing teams.
- Manage recruitment, training, and staff performance.
- Ensure robust care planning, medication management, and risk assessments.
- Monitor budgets, occupancy, and resources effectively.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, and professionals.
- Conduct regular audits and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote a positive, open, and caring culture within the home.
- Act as the Registered Manager, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or working towards completion)
- Previous experience as a Registered or Home Manager within an elderly nursing or residential care setting
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Proven ability to manage, develop, and motivate care teams
- Experience in elderly and dementia care essential
- UK NMC registration not required but would be an advantage
- Passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and driving continuous improvement
