Job Title: Service Manager - Supported Living
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: £40,000 per annum plus 10% annual bonus

 

Compass Associates are delighted to be working exclusively with an adult social care provider who have a number of services throughout the UK. They are a vibrant community driven by a passion for empowering people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.

 

They are currently looking for a dedicated Service Manager to lead an amazing team at their supported living located in Chelmsford. They provide person-centred support in 8 self-contained flats offering residents their own lounge, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Located close to Chelmsford city centre, with easy access to public transport, it's a fantastic place for those we support to explore, learn new hobbies, and engage in the community.

 

The service was opened 12 months ago and has gone from strength to strength with a team of 30 and 4 flats occupied. The current Registered Manager has been promoted internally, so there will be an extensive handover for the successful individual, ensuring you're given all the tools to make the service a success! 
 

The Role
As Registered Manager, you'll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the service. You'll lead a team of care professionals, ensuring the service provides high-quality care while fostering personal growth and development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Enabling individuals to lead fulfilling lives and maximize their independence.
  • Supporting your team’s wellbeing, providing the tools and opportunities for growth.
  • Ensuring the service operates efficiently, balancing quality with budget management.
  • Managing financial resources responsibly and ensuring compliance with all legal and statutory obligations.
  • Overseeing quality assurance processes and maintaining full, accurate reporting.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities or complex behaviours.
  • Proven experience as a Service Manager in Supported Living or Residential Services.
  • A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (Level 4 and 5 support available).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and be on call when needed.
  • A commitment to providing person-centred care and equal opportunities.
