Registered Nurse (Nights) | Elderly Nursing Home | Welwyn Garden City 
Hourly Rate: £21.00 per hour + paid breaks

We are excited to be partnering with a well-established and reputable care home provider with several services across the UK. They are currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis at their large-sized nursing home in Welwyn Garden City.

About the Home:

The home offers a welcoming, family-oriented environment with a dedicated and skilled team of staff. They take the time to build personal relationships with residents and their families, ensuring care is tailored to each individual’s unique needs and preferences. Equipped with its own hair salon, café/bistro, cinema room, and several lounges and communal spaces. Residents are encouraged to pursue their hobbies and interests, with a variety of engaging activities offered daily, including light exercise, crafts, gardening, and outings.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care to residents, meeting their physical, emotional, and psychological needs.

  • Conduct assessments, monitor vital signs, and track health changes.

  • Administer medications, manage prescriptions, and monitor for side effects.

  • Develop and implement personalised care plans, involving families and healthcare professionals.

  • Oversee care assistants and staff, ensuring adherence to care standards.

  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with residents, families, and teams.

  • Follow infection control procedures and health regulations to ensure residents' well-being.

  • Provide compassionate, dignified care for residents at the end of life.

  • Advocate for residents' rights and ensure they receive the best care.

  • Keep skills updated and support junior staff development.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 2 years experience within an elderly nursing home.
  • Personal Qualities: A compassionate and patient nature with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of elderly residents.
  • Skills: A passion for providing high-quality care and supporting a positive team environment.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work 12 and a half hour shifts (19:45pm - 08:15am), including alternate weekends and holidays.
