Relief Pharmacist | Community Pharmacy | Excellent Career Prospects

40 Hours per week
Forth Valley - Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk
Compass Associates are excited to be assisting a well-established independent pharmacy group with the recruitment for a qualified Pharmacist to join its relief team, supporting a network of community pharmacies across Central Scotland.
This is an opportunity to join a successful, family-owned organisation that combines the flexibility and autonomy of independent pharmacy with the support, investment, and career development opportunities of a larger group. Applications are welcomed from pharmacists with or without an Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification.

Benefits include:
- Salary from £58,000 per annum, with tailored remuneration packages available for the right candidate

- Predominantly daytime opening hours, with most branches operating around 9am-6pm

- Excellent support from experienced pharmacy teams and a dedicated head office function
- Minimal administrative burden, allowing greater focus on patient care and service delivery
- Support for Independent Prescribing qualification and ongoing professional development
- Opportunities to become involved in the growth of private services, including travel health, weight management, and ear care clinics
- Modern PMR and EPOS systems across the group
- A stable and supportive leadership team that values pharmacist input and autonomy
The Opportunity
As a Relief Pharmacist, you will provide cover across a network of community pharmacies, primarily within a concentrated geographical area, allowing you to build strong relationships with multiple teams while enjoying variety in your role.
Unlike many relief positions, this role offers continuity and the chance to become a valued member of the wider organisation. Relief pharmacists typically spend full working weeks within individual branches, enabling them to integrate with teams and contribute meaningfully to branch performance and patient care.
The role would particularly suit a pharmacist who enjoys variety, values independence, and is confident making decisions while working within a supportive structure.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a pharmacist who is:
- GPhC registered
- Reliable, trustworthy, and professional
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of their responsibilities
- An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Commercially aware and patient-focused
- Experienced in pharmacy management and team leadership
- Keen to contribute to a positive workplace culture and long-term business success
Independent Prescribing qualification is desirable but not essential. Full support and encouragement are available for pharmacists wishing to pursue this qualification.
Career Development
The organisation has made significant investment in pharmacist development, with a large proportion of employed pharmacists already qualified as Independent Prescribers or currently undertaking training. Supported access to funded IP training pathways and expanding clinical service opportunities make this an excellent environment for pharmacists looking to develop their clinical scope and future career prospects.
Locations
The majority of branch coverage is focused within a closely connected cluster of pharmacies in Central Scotland, with additional locations elsewhere in the network. The geographical footprint makes the role particularly accessible for candidates based in or around Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk, and surrounding areas.
Recommendation Scheme
Compass Associates operates a £500 referral scheme for each successful recommendation.
