Senior Care Assistant | Elderly Care Home | Newcastle-upon-Tyne
Hourly Rate: £12.25p/h + paid breaks
Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne
Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent / 12-hour shifts (8am – 8pm)
Contract: 36 hours per week

We are delighted to be working in partnership with a reputable care home provider that have a number of services throughout the Northeast. They are currently seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join them on a full-time permanent basis working days and nights at their medium sized residential home in Newcastle upon Tyne.   

About the Role:

As Senior Care Assistant, you will work both days and nights, supervising the team alongside the Home Manager to ensure they are delivering the highest standards of personalised care to residents. You will have a caring and kind nature with natural empathy and willingness to help others.

This is a permanent position and have both days and nights available with a shift pattern of 19:45 – 08:00 / 07:45 – 20:00.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing personal care (bathing, dressing, feeding) while maintaining dignity.
• Monitoring and reporting residents' health changes.
• Implementing and updating care plans.
• Administering medications and maintaining records.
• Supervising and mentoring junior staff.
• Promoting resident well-being through activities and support.
• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and care regulations.
• Communicating with families and healthcare providers.
• Offering emotional support and companionship to residents.

Candidate Requirements:

• NVQ LEVEL 3 in Health and Social Care (Essential) 
• Previous Senior Care Assistant experience required 
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Previous experience working in elderly care / care home setting
