Compass Associates is proud to be working with a well-regarded provider of specialist neurorehabilitation services to recruit a Senior Clinical Psychologist for their inpatient service in York.

The service is a 36-bed independent hospital offering neurobehavioral assessment and post-acute rehabilitation for adults with non-progressive ABI. The focus is on enabling people to achieve their personal goals, regain independence, and enhance their social and emotional wellbeing.

The hospital has been purpose-built to support rehabilitation, with facilities including assisted living kitchens and laundry rooms, a fully equipped therapy gym, sensory spaces, arts and music activity rooms, and landscaped therapy gardens. You will be part of a committed multidisciplinary team working alongside Psychiatrists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and more.

Role

• Conduct psychological and neuropsychological evaluations of adults with acquired brain injury using tests, interviews, and observations.
• Create holistic, evidence-based neurobehavioral formulations and SMART goals to guide individualized care.
• Act as keyworker/clinical lead, collaborating with multi/interdisciplinary teams, families, and external professionals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions (individual, family, group) and advise on psychological risk management and neurobehavioral rehabilitation strategies.

Requirements

• Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology accepted by BPS
• Registered with the HCPC
• General knowledge of acquired brain injury pathology, neuroanatomy, symptoms, characteristics, course of recovery and rehabilitation approaches.
• Relevant experience in producing clinical reports.
• At least 2 years’ experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist in a relevant clinical area.
