Salary: £36,454 – £43,897 per annum

Overview:
Compass Associates is proud to be working with a reputable mental health hospital near Barnes which provides specialist inpatient care across CAMHS, Eating Disorders, Addictions and General Psychiatry. Together we are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to lead the Occupational Therapy service within their dedicated CAMHS Eating Disorders unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based, patient-centred interventions to young people experiencing severe and complex mental health conditions.
Working closely with the Therapy Manager and reporting to the Specialist Services Lead, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership to the OT team, delivering high-quality care while also contributing to service development and innovation. This is a rare chance to combine direct clinical work with service leadership, supporting both private and NHS-referred patients in a specialist inpatient setting.
Responsibilities:
Lead, manage and coordinate the OT team in daily operations and service delivery.
Conduct highly specialised assessments, interventions and treatment planning using evidence-based approaches.
Provide expert input in multidisciplinary team meetings and ensure compliance with clinical governance standards.
Drive quality improvement through regular audits, research and outcome measurement.
Support the development and implementation of clinical policies and therapeutic programmes.
Offer professional supervision, appraisal, and mentorship to junior staff and students.
Actively contribute to recruitment, induction and professional development of team members.
Represent OT within Clinical Governance meetings and site leadership forums.
Manage relevant budgetary responsibilities (e.g. therapy activity budgets).
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
HCPC registration
Significant post-qualification experience in acute settings
Experience of team leadership and service development
Excellent knowledge of CPA processes, ADL assessments, and OT frameworks
High-level report writing and communication skills
Desirable:
MSc or postgraduate long-course qualifications
Inpatient CAMHS or eating disorders experience
Membership of RCOT
