Salary: £46,000 per annum
Hours: 4 days per week (30 hours), with the possibility to extend to 5 days (37.5 hours)

Overview:

Compass Associates is delighted to partner with a prestigious mental health hospital in North London to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist for their highly skilled and stable therapy team. This well-established hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient programmes, specialising in OCD and general psychiatric care.

This role offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to work across multiple therapeutic settings, engaging with both adults and children who require specialist interventions for OCD and general psychiatric conditions.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be instrumental in the assessment and therapy process, conducting Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assessments, discharge assessments, and mobility assessments. You will also deliver one-to-one therapy sessions tailored to individual needs, with a particular emphasis on OCD and general psychiatric disorders. In addition, you will provide leadership and supervision to OT and OTA staff, fostering professional development and ensuring a high standard of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct ADL, mobility, and discharge assessments within an OCD and general psychiatric framework.
• Lead therapy sessions, both one-to-one and in group settings, focusing on the treatment of OCD and general psychiatric conditions.
• Provide expert clinical leadership and supervision to junior Occupational Therapy staff.
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualised care plans for patients with OCD and general psychiatric needs.
• Contribute to the transition process for patients moving from inpatient to outpatient settings, ensuring continuity of care for OCD and general psychiatric patients.
• Develop and implement innovative treatment strategies to enhance recovery for patients with OCD and general psychiatric disorders.

What We’re Looking For:

• Honours Degree in Occupational Therapy with active HCPC registration.
• At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a mental health setting, preferably with OCD and general psychiatric patient groups.
• Experience conducting assessments, including ADL, mobility, and discharge planning.
• Proven experience supervising junior staff and leading therapy sessions.
• Ability to work independently and confidently with OCD and general psychiatric patients.
• A proactive and flexible approach to managing a diverse caseload.
