Overview
Join a leading neurological rehabilitation service based in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, supporting adults with acquired brain injuries, spinal injuries, and long-term neurological conditions. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to promoting recovery, maximising independence, and improving quality of life through person-centred care.
You will use your expertise to assess, plan, and deliver effective rehabilitation programmes while working closely with residents, families, and colleagues from multiple clinical disciplines. Responsibilities
- Complete detailed neurological assessments and deliver evidence-based treatment plans.
- Provide rehabilitation interventions that enhance independence and function in activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Carry out cognitive assessments and cognitive rehabilitation programmes.
- Apply therapeutic handling and assess the need for adaptive equipment and specialist seating.
- Identify ongoing therapy and support needs to ensure long-term wellbeing.
- Collaborate with community teams to coordinate complex discharge planning.
- Evaluate clinical outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Supervise support staff and students, sharing your expertise within the team.
- Develop and implement innovative, evidence-based therapeutic activities to promote recovery.
- Candidate Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience, ideally within a neurological or complex rehabilitation setting.
- Strong understanding of occupational therapy frames of reference and clinical reasoning models.
- Proficient in using outcome measures such as FIM/FAM, CRS-R, WHIM, and TOMS.
- Skilled in assessing, planning, and delivering interventions for adults with complex physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
- Confident working with individuals who may have learning disabilities, autism, or mental health challenges.
- Committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care as part of a transdisciplinary team.
Salary Package & Benefits
- Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
