We’re looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to join the team on our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Our modern, 14 bed PICU has been operational since November 2011 and offers cutting-edge treatment using the latest technology and has the support of a specialised team of Consultant Paediatric Intensivists 24/7, ensuring our team has all the tools they need to deliver truly exceptional care.
As a Senior Staff Nurse on our Paediatric Intensive Care unit you’ll take responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge nurse while developing, implementing and evaluating holistic care plans for children in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team. We’ll look to you to act as a role model and mentor to our junior/student nurses while using those same interpersonal skills to develop long standing relationships with children and their families. Above all else, you’ll be part of a close team that champions collaboration, support and growth. What you’ll bring:
NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
Post Graduate experience working in a PICU setting
Understanding of Safeguarding issues
Teaching and mentoring experience desirable
Completion of a PICU Course that is equivalent to 60 credits
Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits
Experience of supervising and assessing students and shift leading is desirable
