Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist neurological service providing slow-stream rehabilitation and long-term care for adults with complex acquired brain injuries and neurological conditions. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment focused on helping individuals maximise their communication potential, independence, and overall wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Lead individual and group therapy sessions designed to improve communication, language, and swallowing functions.
- Manage a designated caseload of service users, carrying out assessments, developing treatment plans, and evaluating progress in line with personalised care plans.
- Apply specialist clinical knowledge in acquired communication and swallowing disorders and adapt interventions to meet diverse and complex needs.
- Work closely with families, carers, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care and support.
- Participate in service development, audits, and research initiatives to maintain and enhance evidence-based practice.
- Contribute to a positive team culture by sharing expertise and supporting professional development across the therapy team.
Candidate Requirements
- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Experience in neurological or complex care settings, including the assessment and treatment of dysphagia.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and tailor interventions to individual communication goals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with service users and families.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and a commitment to maintaining high clinical standards.
Salary Package & Benefits
- Salary up to £46,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
