Service Manager – Adult Services

Salary: £35,000 + Benefits

 

We are working in partnership with a national provider of specialist adult social care services to recruit a Service Manager for a supported living service in East Ayrshire.

 

The service supports 20+ individuals who have highly complex needs. You will ensure individuals receive high-quality, person-centred support, promoting independence, wellbeing, and positive life outcomes in line with individual support plans.

 

This is an opportunity for an experienced manager to take ownership of a complex service, supporting a committed team and driving continued improvement. You will be joining a passionate and committed team, with the opportunity to provide the management and structure needed to support their ongoing development.

 

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role within adult social care
  • A strong residential care or supported living background
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and/or learning disabilities
  • SVQ Level 4 (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, inspections and regulatory standards

 

The Role

 

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring someone confident managing complexity, driving standards, and embedding a positive and stable culture.

As Service Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing staffing levels, rotas, and absence
  • Driving consistency and reducing agency usage
  • Managing, developing and supporting a staff team
  • Ensuring strong compliance, reporting, and inspection readiness
  • Maintaining and improving quality of care delivery
  • Building effective relationships with local authorities and families

The Candidate

 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, confident Service Manager with a background in complex needs and learning difficulties. You will be able to lead from the front, support and develop an established, committed workforce, and have a clear understanding of adult residential and/or supported living services. You will bring strong knowledge of CI compliance and reporting, and be able build relationships with Local Authority and families.
