Compass Associates are partnering with a progressive, inclusive social care organisation to recruit a Service Manager to lead adult autism services across the Edinburgh and Lothians area.

This position offers a strong balance of operational leadership and service development, within an organisation known for its commitment to coaching-led leadership, values-based practice and long-term staff development.

THE ROLE

The Service Manager will take responsibility for a portfolio of services, ensuring high-quality, autism-specific support and strong operational performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include:

• Leadership and operational oversight of multiple autism services
• Developing confident, autonomous teams through coaching and mentoring
• Ensuring care and support plans reflect best practice and maximise independence
• Auditing quality, risk management and service delivery standards
• Managing staffing, performance and service culture
• Financial management and contribution to budget planning and review
• Working collaboratively with families, professionals and community partners
• Supporting the ongoing development and profile of local services
• This role has a strong emphasis on service quality, leadership development and continuous improvement.

ABOUT YOU

You will be an experienced manager with:

• A relevant SSSC-recognised qualification, including SVQ Level 4 Health and Social Care and Leadership in Management and Care
• Experience managing autism or complex needs services
• Strong people management, coaching and mentoring skills
• Experience liaising with multi-disciplinary professionals
• Confidence managing service quality, budgets and performance
• A leadership style aligned with values-led, autism-informed practice

CANDIDATE SUITABILITY NOTE

This role requires prior management experience within specialist social care services.
