Job Title: Service Manager – Adult Social Care
Salary: £37,000 - £38,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Mon to Fri, with shared on-call responsibilities
Location: Croydon

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a newly created leadership role overseeing a service supporting adults with autism, learning disabilities, and complex or challenging behaviours in Croydon.

 

The Role

 

You will be a visible, hands-on leader who ensures quality, stability, and a strong person-centred culture across the service. Reporting to senior management, you will have operational autonomy to drive service improvements, tackle challenges, and embed a culture of compassion, and professional growth.

 

As Service Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations across the service supporting adults with complex needs.

  • Manage, support, and inspire a multidisciplinary team, promoting a stable, person-centred, and culture.

  • Oversee recruitment, rota management, and resource allocation to reduce agency usage and maintain safe staffing.

  • Collaborate with senior management, HR, and finance teams to ensure services meet organisational and budgetary goals.

  • Maintain visibility, engaging with staff, residents, and families to uphold high-quality care.

  • Drive service stability, staff development, and culture change during a period of transition.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience as a Registered/Service or Locality Manager in a senior operational role.

  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex or challenging behaviours.

  • Strong understanding of CQC compliance, inspections, and quality assurance frameworks.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

  • Experience managing staffing challenges, recruitment, and rota planning.

  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it.
