Job Title: Service Manager – Adult Social Care
Salary: £37,000 - £38,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Mon to Fri, with shared on-call responsibilities
Location: Croydon

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a newly created leadership role overseeing a service supporting adults with autism, learning disabilities, and complex or challenging behaviours in Croydon.
The Role
You will be a visible, hands-on leader who ensures quality, stability, and a strong person-centred culture across the service. Reporting to senior management, you will have operational autonomy to drive service improvements, tackle challenges, and embed a culture of compassion, and professional growth.
As Service Manager, you will:

Lead and manage day-to-day operations across the service supporting adults with complex needs.

Manage, support, and inspire a multidisciplinary team, promoting a stable, person-centred, and culture.

Oversee recruitment, rota management, and resource allocation to reduce agency usage and maintain safe staffing.

Collaborate with senior management, HR, and finance teams to ensure services meet organisational and budgetary goals.

Maintain visibility, engaging with staff, residents, and families to uphold high-quality care.

Drive service stability, staff development, and culture change during a period of transition.
We’re looking for someone with:

Proven experience as a Registered/Service or Locality Manager in a senior operational role.

Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex or challenging behaviours.

Strong understanding of CQC compliance, inspections, and quality assurance frameworks.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Experience managing staffing challenges, recruitment, and rota planning.

A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it.
