Social Care Trainer | Health & Social Care | Tonbridge, Kent

 

Location: Tonbridge, Kent
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum (DOE)
Contracted Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: 09:00am – 05:30pm, Monday to Friday
Requirement: Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)

 

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Care Trainer to join a well-established and highly regarded live-in care provider based in Tonbridge, Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in care or nursing who enjoys supporting and developing others through structured training and mentoring.

 

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging induction and refresher training to carers, both face-to-face and online, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to provide exceptional care in clients’ homes.

 

Working as part of a small, supportive training team, you will deliver the organisation’s award-winning training programme, mapped to the Care Certificate, while providing coaching and guidance to carers at all stages of their development.

 

This position offers a stable weekday schedule with no on-call duties and the chance to make a meaningful impact in shaping the next generation of compassionate carers.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured training sessions both in-person and virtually.

  • Support, coach, and assess carers through their induction and ongoing training.

  • Guide carers completing the Care Certificate and other qualifications.

  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.

  • Review and update in-house training programmes in line with best practice, sector guidance, and regulatory standards.

  • Provide pastoral and practical support to carers, in person and via phone.

  • Contribute ideas to improve training content and methods.

  • Attend relevant CPD opportunities, seminars, and mandatory training to maintain professional development.

Requirements

  • Background in nursing or care is essential.

  • Training or assessing experience preferred but not essential (full support provided).

  • Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent qualification required.

  • Knowledge of moving and positioning techniques preferred but not essential.

  • Strong communication, coaching, and organisational skills.

  • Approachable, confident, and enthusiastic about developing others.

  • Highly organised with attention to detail and a proactive, team-focused attitude.

Stage 1: Initial call (phone or Teams)
Stage 2: Formal interview
Stage 3: Informal visit to observe training and meet the CEO
