Job Title: Part-Time Social Worker – Eating Disorder & Acute Mental Health Units

Salary: £41,463 pro rata

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (3 days)

Location: Bromley, Kent

Qualifications: Social Work England registration & 2 years post-qualification experience in mental health

Overview:

Compass Associates is working in partnership with a specialist mental health and rehabilitation facility in Kent to recruit a Part-Time Social Worker to join their Eating Disorder Unit (EDU). The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support for patients with complex eating disorders and will play a key role in safeguarding and patient welfare. The role also involves cross-working between the Eating Disorder Unit and the Acute Mental Health Ward, supporting male patients with complex social needs such as PIP claims and accommodation arrangements.

 

This role offers a great opportunity to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality care to individuals facing complex social and mental health challenges.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide personalised social work support to patients in the Eating Disorder Unit (EDU).

- Attend MDT meetings and contribute to treatment plans.

- Conduct weekly ward rounds to ensure patient progress and support.

- Serve as the Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the welfare of patients is prioritised.

- Support male patients with complex social needs, including PIP claims and accommodation arrangements.

- Work across both the Eating Disorder Unit and Acute Ward to provide integrated, person-centred care.

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to make decisions that lead to positive outcomes for patients.

 

Essential Requirements:

- Registered with Social Worke England with a degree in Social Work.

- Full completion of ASYE

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mental health, with an emphasis on complex patient care.

- Experience working with patients diagnosed with eating disorders.

- Understanding of complex patient presentations and tailored dietary interventions is essential.
