Specialist Dementia Service Lead | Elderly Care | Bamber Bridge 

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are looking for a Specialist Dementia Service Lead to oversee a therapeutic 20-bedded dementia care community designed for individuals living with distress and complex needs.

This is an opportunity to work within a specialist setting that priorities understanding the "why" behind each individual’s experience, fostering an approach where teams think and act differently to deliver truly person-centred care.

You will also work alongside senior clinical professionals, including Professor Graham Stokes, a renowned leader in dementia care, contributing to the ongoing transformation of dementia services within social care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and be a visible presence within the SDCC
  • Lead and supervise a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring high standards of care
  • Oversee pre- and post-admission assessments and person-centred care plans
  • Implement and monitor specialist therapeutic interventions for complex dementia care needs
  • Advocate for residents' human rights and quality of life
  • Collaborate with internal and external professionals to enhance service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, and Liberty Protection Safeguards
  • Participate in service development discussions and promote the SDCC’s expertise

Candidate Requirements

  • Significant experience in dementia care in a senior leadership role
  • Background in social care, registered nursing (RMN/RGN/RNLD), occupational therapy, or clinical psychology
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably with a Postgraduate qualification in dementia or a related field
  • Strong understanding of positive behaviour support and dementia interventions
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and nights, to maintain service integrity
