Therapy Team Manager – Specialist Neurological Care Centre
Salary: £49,383 - £55,647 per annum (£31,746 - £34,065 pro rata)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire

 

We are proud to be working in partnership with a leading charity specialising in neurorehabilitation and brain injury recovery. They are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Therapy Team Manager to join their dedicated specialist neurological care centre in Hitchin. This is a rewarding opportunity for a qualified Physiotherapist to play a key role in improving the lives of individuals with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions.

 

As Therapy Team Manager, you will be an integral member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to high-quality service delivery, clinical governance, and continuous improvement. Alongside managing a small caseload, you will oversee therapy provision and lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional, person-centred rehabilitation programmes for individuals with conditions such as brain injury, Parkinson's disease, Huntington’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of therapy services, ensuring effective treatment planning and execution from referral through to discharge.
  • Monitor team caseloads and allocate resources to maintain efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Lead on clinical governance matters including risk management and support the implementation of relevant policies and standards.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and management support to therapy staff.
  • Act as deputy lead on-site, contributing to service development through user engagement, peer reviews, audits, and outcome evaluations.
  • Chair interdisciplinary meetings and clinical reviews as required.
  • Independently assess, plan, and deliver therapy interventions aligned to individual needs.
  • Monitor and support the team’s attendance of mandatory and developmental training.
  • Promote research and evidence-based practice through audit and quality improvement initiatives.

 

Candidate Requirements

 

  • BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration and CSP membership
  • Substantial post-registration clinical and leadership experience in a health or social care setting
  • Desirable: Membership of a relevant specialist interest group (e.g., ACPIN / ACPIVR)
  • Clinical experience working with individuals with moderate to advanced neurological conditions
  • Strong evidence of implementing evidence-based practice, audit processes, and outcome measures
  • In-depth knowledge and application of complex neurological assessments and interventions
  • Proven experience in managing staff teams, including appraisals, recruitment, and performance management
