Setting: Inpatient Mental Health Hospital – Adult Acute Ward
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hrs/week + On-Call
Salary: £47,300 – £53,700 (Depending on Experience)

About the Role

 

Compass Associates is proud to partner with one of the UK’s most trusted private healthcare providers, specialising in inpatient mental health care. We’re searching for a passionate and confident Ward Manager to lead a dedicated team on a specialist Adult Acute Ward within a modern, multi-service hospital in Chelmsford.

 

As Ward Manager, you’ll play a vital role in the hospital’s senior clinical leadership team alongside the Hospital Director and Director of Clinical Services. You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading your clinical team, including a Deputy Ward Manager

  • Ensuring high standards of care and clinical practice

  • Driving service improvements and fostering a positive ward culture

  • Acting as a key leader within the wider clinical leadership group

What We're Looking For

  • NMC Registered RMN (Applications from RNLDs with relevant experience also considered)

  • Proven leadership experience – ideally as a Ward Manager or Deputy Ward Manager or Charge Nurse 

  • Strong background in inpatient mental health

  • Ability to lead, inspire and support a multidisciplinary team

  • A clear and current DBS

Location & Access

 

Located just outside Chelmsford, the hospital offers excellent transport links across Essex, and is easily commutable from Colchester, Stevenage, and Enfield.

 

Salary & Benefits

  • £47,300 – £53,700 DOE

  • 33 Days Annual Leave (Including Bank Holidays)

  • Monday to Friday schedule
