Compass Associates was founded by Mike Jeffreys, Chris Russell and Sam Leighton-Smith in early 2010, initially starting out as a UK-headquartered executive recruiting firm focusing on the for-profit senior living markets.

Over time, the business introduced a research-led, retained executive search brand, and grew to four offices comprising more than 60 consultants for the Compass Associates brand. The team still continue to support the senior living and elder care sectors with executive recruitment services, growing to cover home healthcare, memory care, assisted living, skilled nursing, hospice and homecare, and independent living sub-sectors, launching in the US in 2023. More recently, Compass Associates has introduced behavioral health executive recruitment services, with a focus on ABA recruitment, addictions, and mental health sectors as demand in America has grown for talent in these markets.

In Compass Associates’ history, the team have helped find jobs for more than 10,000 people and are a trusted partner to many as we remained proactive to addressing the needs of those we support. Whether this is creating dedicated recruitment expertise in a niche industry specialism; introducing a dedicated head of customer excellence; or tailoring client recruitment services based on our NPS feedback, we listen and act.

Compass Associates has been recognized in the UK at the leading for-profit senior living and behavioral health media, publishing and events bodies, HealthInvestor and LaingBuisson Awards as Recruiter of the Year on more than eight occasions, we’re proud to make such a positive impact to so many people’s lives in the sectors we recruit. 

We are proud to have received private equity investment from Cow Corner  in 2024 in recognition of the outstanding service levels, delivery, and market reputation of the group. With less than 5% of executive recruitment firms globally getting private equity investment, this recognition is something we’re proud of.
