Psychiatrist – Community Mental Health – Full / Part-Time
Location: Sacramento, California
Schedule: Full/ Part Time | Monday–Friday (Flexible Scheduling Available)
Compensation: Up to $400,000 Salary + Benefits
We are supporting a growing behavioral health organization seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatrist to join their team in California. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist who is passionate about working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness in a structured residential treatment environment.
The Psychiatrist will serve as a key clinical leader within a multidisciplinary care team, providing psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for individuals with complex mental health needs. You will collaborate closely with therapists, nursing staff, and rehabilitation professionals to support long-term stabilization, recovery, and improved quality of life for residents.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
- Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric care for residents
- Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the care team
- Collaborate with therapists, nurses, case managers, and other clinical staff
- Support crisis intervention and clinical decision-making in residential settings
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in treatment planning meetings and interdisciplinary care coordination
- Ensure all care is delivered in accordance with California medical regulations and clinical best practices
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) with completion of Psychiatry residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Active California medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) preferred
- Background in residential, inpatient, or community mental health settings is an advantage
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment
