Salary: £17.00 - £18.00 per hour (with flexibility for the right candidate)
Location: Waltham Abbey, Essex
Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week | Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
On-Call: Shared rota, approximately every other weekend

About the Role

Compass Associates are supporting a well-established care provider with the recruitment of an experienced Deputy Manager for a purpose-built residential care setting supporting older people, including residents living with dementia.

The service provides a warm, resident-focused environment with a strong emphasis on dignity, independence, meaningful activities and quality of life. The home offers a range of communal and outdoor spaces designed to encourage residents to socialise, stay engaged and feel at home.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager looking for a Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm working pattern, alongside a shared on-call rota approximately every other weekend.

You will work closely with the Home Manager, supporting the day-to-day running of the service and helping to maintain high standards of care, compliance and team performance.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the service
• Providing strong leadership and support to the care team
• Maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding and resident wellbeing
• Supporting care planning, audits and quality assurance processes
• Ensuring the service remains compliant with CQC requirements and relevant legislation
• Supporting staff supervision, performance management and development
• Building positive relationships with residents, relatives and colleagues
• Supporting continuous improvement across the service
• Participating in the shared on-call rota

What We're Looking For

• Previous Deputy Manager experience within a residential or nursing care setting is essential
• Strong understanding of CQC standards and regulatory requirements
• Experience supporting and leading care teams
• Confident with care planning, audits, safeguarding and compliance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Resilient, organised and able to build effective working relationships
• A genuine commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
