Registered Manager – Children’s Services

Location: Salford, Greater Manchester 
Salary: £45,000 per annum

We’re recruiting for a Registered Manager to oversee a children’s residential service in Salford. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, leading a team dedicated to supporting young people with a variety of emotional, physical, social, and developmental needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Manage the residential care team and ensure high-quality service delivery in line with organisational policies, National Minimum Standards, and legislative frameworks.
•    Develop a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment tailored to the individual needs of young people.

•    Achieve and maintain "Fit Person" status with Ofsted to meet regulatory requirements.
•    Monitor and ensure compliance with quality standards, safeguarding practices, and care plans.
•    Lead and motivate a team, fostering professional growth and maintaining a positive team culture.
•    Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required, to meet the needs of the service.
•    Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support across the Trust’s Residential and Community services.

 

What We’re Looking For:
•    Proven experience in managing children’s residential services, ideally in line with Ofsted standards.
•    In-depth understanding of the National Minimum Standards and legislative requirements for children’s homes.
•    Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
•    The ability to manage complex situations while maintaining a calm and professional demeanour.
•    A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable people.
•    Flexibility to adapt to the varied and sometimes unpredictable nature of the role.
•    Relevant qualifications such as Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
