BCBA Team Build | Behavorial Health | Blossom ABA Therapy
When Blossom ABA Therapy needed to build out its team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts across North Carolina and Maryland, Compass Associates was trusted to deliver. This case study outlines how our behavioral health team combined sector expertise, a disciplined process and close communication to secure six offers within four weeks, despite intense competition for talent and changing licensure requirements.
About Blossom ABA Therapy
Blossom ABA Therapy is a behavioral health agency providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Operating across Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Colorado and Maryland, Blossom delivers in-home services, alongside center-based care at its Georgia clinics. Its care is led by a team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Licensed Behavior Analysts, who assess each child and design an individualized treatment plan. As the organization continued to grow, building a strong BCBA team in North Carolina and Maryland became a priority.
The Challenge
Blossom needed to build a team of qualified BCBAs across two states within a short window. The BCBA is central to the quality of care, so every hire had to be the right one, and the market made that difficult.
The search was shaped by three key challenges:
- Intense market competition: demand for BCBAs is high and the pool of qualified clinicians is limited, meaning strong candidates were often considering multiple opportunities.
- Licensure and regulatory changes: recent changes to licensure and regulatory requirements added complexity to identifying candidates who were eligible and ready to practice.
- An accelerated timeline: time-sensitive recruitment targets meant the search had to move quickly without compromising on quality.
Blossom needed a recruitment partner who understood the behavioral health market and could deliver at pace across both states.
Our Approach
Compass Associates applied a structured, consultative approach designed to move quickly without compromising quality:
In-depth briefing and role scoping. We worked closely with Blossom to understand its hiring targets in North Carolina and Maryland, ensuring every candidate presented was aligned to the needs of the team.
Targeted market engagement. Leveraging our behavioral health network, we identified and engaged qualified BCBAs in both states, including those not actively looking for a new role.
Rigorous screening. Every candidate was assessed for experience and fit, with licensure and regulatory requirements considered from the outset so that only suitable candidates progressed.
Close, consistent communication. We kept both Blossom and candidates informed at every stage, helping to maintain momentum and engagement in a competitive market.
