Home Health – also known as home care, or home health care – is an increasingly popular option for senior citizens who would prefer to remain in their own personal homes, rather than use a facility offering assisted living, nursing, or independent living care.

The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) conducted a survey in 2021 where 77% of respondents aged 50 and older indicated a desire to remain in their homes as they age, which is a belief driving an increase in demand for home health services. There are more than 3.5 million home health and personal care aides according to a 2022 report by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, and anticipate job are projected to grow by 25% in the decade to 2031.

A key benefit of home health is that families can personalize care options, and is more affordable alternative to facility-based care, making the option a more attractive alternative for many families.
