Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with a specialist independent inpatient provider in the recruitment of a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist for a female-only mental health service based in South Yorkshire.
The service supports women presenting with highly complex mental health needs, including eating disorders, trauma-related difficulties, personality disorder presentations, and neurodevelopmental conditions within a specialist inpatient environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established multidisciplinary team supporting individuals with highly complex presentations within a therapeutic inpatient environment. Psychology is embedded within the service and plays a central role in assessment, formulation, staff support, and service development.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention for inpatients with complex presentations.
- Deliver individual and group-based therapeutic work using integrative approaches.
- Contribute to MDT discussions, ward rounds, CPA meetings, and risk management planning.
- Chair formulation meetings and support the development of individualised behavioural and safety plans.
- Offer reflective practice, consultation, and psychologically informed guidance to nursing and support staff.
- Deliver staff training around trauma-informed care, DBT-informed approaches, and Positive Behaviour Support.
- Support ongoing service development and clinical evaluation initiatives.
- Contribute to psychologically informed approaches surrounding mealtime support and high-risk behaviours.
Candidate Requirements
- HCPC Registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
- Experience working within inpatient, complex care, or highly acute mental health settings.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed approaches and complex presentations.
- Confident working within multidisciplinary teams and offering consultation to wider staff groups.
