General Manager | Brand New Luxury Residential Care Home

Location: East Sussex

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum + occupancy bonus package + enhanced benefits

Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with one the best luxury care providers in the sector to recruit a General Manager, a luxury residential care home located in East Sussex. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a newly opened, high-quality service within a forward-thinking and growing elderly care organisation focused on delivering exceptional resident experiences alongside outstanding standards of care.

 

The home opened in May 2025 and has quickly established itself as a premium care environment, offering residential care within a warm, welcoming and supportive setting. The successful candidate will join the home at an exciting stage of its journey, with the opportunity to shape culture, drive occupancy growth, and further embed operational excellence across the service. This role would suit an experienced Home Manager with strong operational leadership skills, a passion for person-centred care, and the ability to develop high-performing teams within a luxury care environment.

 

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care standards, strong compliance, and positive commercial performance. You will work closely with the wider senior management structure, including the Care Manager, CRM, and Home Administrator, while receiving support from an engaged and progressive senior leadership team. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a hands-on manager who can confidently support staff, engage positively with residents and relatives, and create a compassionate, accountable, and professional culture throughout the home.

 

The Candidate

Our client is seeking an experienced and approachable leader with a proven background in elderly care home management or healthcare operations. Candidates should be confident managing teams, driving operational performance, and maintaining high standards of care and governance within a resident-focused environment.

 

The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial awareness alongside a compassionate and people-focused leadership style. You will be highly organised, operationally driven, and capable of balancing occupancy growth, staffing, compliance, resident experience, and financial oversight within a demanding but rewarding leadership position. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, regulators, and the wider staff team.

 

Requirements – Essential

  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Experience with budget management and financial oversight
  • Experience working with CQC and other regulatory bodies
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop and retain staff
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Compassionate, professional and approachable leadership style
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards equivalent qualification)

Requirements – Desirable

  • Knowledge of Person Centred Software (PCS)
  • Understanding of local authority commissioning processes
  • Experience within luxury or premium elderly care settings
