Small Animal Vet | Independent Practice in Storrington

Up to £65,000 (high negotiable DOE) plus Benefits | Mix of First Opinion & Referral Services

Are you a Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in working for independent businesses?

Love all things nursing and want to add value to your next practice?

The Job:

A growing, independent veterinary group in West Sussex is seeking a new Surgeon to join their clinical team at their branch. Across the group, there are several practices and large veterinary hospitals to serve both the simple, first opinion cases and more complex referral level patients. Orthopaedics, advanced imaging, health checks and training for SVNs & EMS placements all happen in house!

The new Vet would work a 4-day week with 1 in 6 weekends – TOIL is provided for any weekend work done. Our caseload is a true mix that creates a diverse & rewarding clinical diary for you to work through. Consulting & surgical confidence is needed as we are not able to offer 1-2-1 guidance for new graduates; more complex workups at the hospitals can have you shadow however and we are keen to create development plans for vets looking into specialisations. You branch practice has a full-staffed nursing team, other surgeons to work alongside and a front of house team that let you do the job you do best.

What sets us apart is the truly unique and independent culture of support, humility and development we have established for the staff. While clinical skills are important, we also need a nurse that will fit into a warm and receptive atmosphere by being a strong team player with a good attitude to getting stuck in!

A full person spec is available on request for some more detail on the role. We do also have a OOH Surgeon role at the hospital (7on/14off) if you may be more interested in ECC work.

What’s in it for me?

Our nurses are the backbone of the hospital so we take care of them. Salary is up to circa £65,000 plus a wealth of benefits:

- Heavy staff discounts on vet care

- Flexible CPD with cert funding available

- Enhanced parental leave

- Enhanced Sick leave

- Generous holiday

- Mental health first aiders and varieties of other occupational health resources.
