Headteacher - Specialist College 

Location: Doncaster 

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + bonuses 

About the role

As Head Teacher at our college, you'll lead a specialist setting for students aged 14-16 with challenging behaviour. You'll oversee daily operations, maintain high teaching and pastoral standards, and work closely with a dedicated leadership team. With a strong Ofsted rating and supportive environment, this is a chance to build on our success and make a real difference for vulnerable young people.

What you'll be doing

• Provide strategic leadership, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for students aged 14-16 with challenging behaviours.
• Oversee daily operations, maintaining high standards in teaching, learning, and pastoral care.
• Develop and implement strategies to promote student achievement and wellbeing.
• Lead and support staff, fostering a positive, collaborative culture.
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding, and educational standards.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and external partners.
• Monitor student progress and attendance, implementing interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to support organisational goals and new developments.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of new staff.

What we're looking for

• Proven educational leadership, in alternative or specialist settings.
• Strong strategic and operational management, focused on student re-engagement and outcomes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all stakeholders.
• Demonstrated team leadership, ensuring high standards and student welfare.
• Experience with governance, compliance, and Ofsted requirements.
• Professionalism and flexibility in managing sensitive situations.
• Proactive, resilient, and student-centred approach.
• On-site presence in Doncaster as required
