Overview
You’ll work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, using your clinical expertise to help service users regain function, independence, and confidence in their daily lives. You’ll have access to ongoing training, professional development, and a network of clinical colleagues who share your passion for improving quality of life.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Complete neurological assessments and develop personalised treatment plans.
- Deliver evidence-based rehabilitation to enhance function and independence with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Conduct cognitive assessments and support cognitive rehabilitation programmes.
- Utilise therapeutic handling skills and specialist equipment to promote recovery and comfort.
- Assess environmental and seating needs, ensuring each individual has access to the right aids and adaptations.
- Liaise with community teams to support seamless discharge planning.
- Monitor progress using outcome measures such as FIM/FAM, CRS-R, WHIM, and TOMS.
- Supervise and support Occupational Therapy Assistants and students.
- Contribute to service development through evidence-based practice and collaborative teamwork.
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with adults with neurological conditions, ideally within a rehabilitation or complex care setting.
- Strong assessment, planning, and clinical reasoning skills.
- Confidence in managing your own caseload and working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with neurological outcome measures and evidence-based approaches to rehabilitation.
- A person-centred mindset and a genuine desire to support individuals in achieving their goals and improving their quality of life.
Salary Package & Benefits
- Annual salary up to £38,000, depending on experience.
