Assistant Headteacher – Brand New PMLD School 

Location: Dudley
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (Negotiable Depending on Experience)

We are opening a brand-new specialist school in Dudley, created to empower children and young people with complex needs to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are now looking for a passionate, skilled, and motivated Assistant Headteacher to help shape our provision from day one.

Working alongside a committed leadership team, you will play a vital role in establishing outstanding SEND practice from the ground up. The Role

As Assistant Headteacher, you will:

  • Play a key role in the Senior Leadership Team, driving high standards and continuous improvement across the College.

  • Provide exemplary leadership in teaching and learning, ensuring outstanding classroom practice throughout.

  • Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and pupil progress tracking.

  • Support and develop teaching staff through coaching, appraisals, and professional development.

  • Lead on safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion initiatives.

  • Maintain strong relationships with external agencies, professional services, and community partners.

  • Deliver a small teaching timetable, modelling best practice.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS or QTLS.

  • Has a minimum of two years’ experience working within a SEN or specialist provision.

  • Brings a deep understanding of the OFSTED framework and independent school standards.

  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for young people with SEND.

  • Has proven experience leading teams, managing behaviour effectively, and driving high-quality teaching.

  • Demonstrates strong safeguarding knowledge and experience.
