A rare opportunity has arisen for a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a well-equipped 24-hour veterinary hospital in North London.
The Hospital & Role
This is a 24/7 emergency and critical care hospital supporting the wider North London area with a diverse overnight caseload. The hospital provides continuity of care for hospitalised patients and emergency admissions, with structured handovers between day and night teams.
As a Night RVN, you will take a lead role in overnight patient care, emergency triage, and critical monitoring, working alongside a Veterinary Surgeon and Patient Care Assistant. This role offers high levels of autonomy while remaining fully supported by an experienced senior clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
Managing overnight in-patients and emergency admissions
Monitoring and treating critical medical and surgical cases
Supporting emergency procedures and surgeries
Delivering high standards of intensive nursing care
Conducting patient handovers and maintaining clinical records
Caseload & Facilities
The overnight caseload includes emergency surgeries, intensive medical care, and post-operative monitoring. The hospital is fully equipped with:
Dedicated ICU
Emergency surgical theatres
CT, ultrasound, and digital radiography
On-site laboratory
Separate cat and dog wards
This role provides excellent exposure to advanced ECC nursing and autonomous decision-making.
The Team
You will be part of a close-knit overnight team, supported by a wider hospital community of experienced RVNs and certificate-holding clinicians. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and strongly focused on wellbeing and professional development.
Rota
Part-time: 30.4 hours per week
Annualised hours with flexibility for extended time off
Full-time equivalent salary up to £37,000 DOE (pro rata applied)
